Naia's Story
Meet Naia! Naia is a 5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier. She got the name Naia because Naia means beautiful, and that is exactly what she is! When Naia was just three weeks old she was thrown from a moving car. Her now owner, Robin Evelyn, picked her up; she looked down at the little Naia who could not even walk yet, looked into Naia's soft grey eyes and took Naia in as her own. Although you could never tell from the outside (because of her sweet loving puppy spirit), Naia has been battling cancer for a little over a year now. She was diagnosed with Mast Cell Tumors on February 12, 2012. Since then Naia has been seeing a holistic vet, and was put on several medications and supplements. She has two tumors on her ear that cannot be removed; however, her current treatment has reduced them. Naia does not receive chemotherapy or injections. She has endured five surgeries within the past year, and is about to go through yet another one. Robin has been thankful for the grants she has received to help cover the cost of Naia's previous surgeries. The following is the actual letter Robin submitted to RedRover in admission for a grant: http://mybestfriendhascancer.weebly.com/faces-of-hope.html Robin ended up receiving the grant, and because of that grant Naia is still alive today, beating the fight against cancer. We all know that money can only go so far, and now Robin is finding herself struggling as she cannot afford the surgery that Naia so desperately needs. This surgery is for ACL repair which is in the same area of the leg where she already had two MCT removed. Robin and Naia need your help. Please, donate towards Naia's fundraiser today. No matter what you can afford, every bit helps. Don't let cancer take another life!
